Rigidity, directivity, unloading mechanism, positioning method, gap size and other factors should be considered in the design of die structure and parameter selection. The wearing parts on the mould should be easily replaced. For plastic mold and die casting mold, reasonable gating system, molten plastic or metal flow state, position and direction into the mold cavity should also be considered. In order to improve the productivity and reduce the loss of flow channel pouring, the multi-cavity mould can be used to complete many same or different products in one mould at the same time. High efficiency, high precision and long life moulds should be used in mass production.
The stamping die should adopt multi-station progressive die, and the cemented carbide insert can be adopted to improve the service life. In small batch production and trial production of new products, simple dies with simple structure, quick manufacture and low cost should be adopted, such as composite die, sheet die, polyurethane rubber die, low melting point alloy die, zinc alloy die, super plastic alloy die, etc. The use of computer-aided design (CAD) has been introduced in moulds, that is, the optimum design of moulds through a computer-centric system. This is the development direction of mold design.
According to the structural characteristics, die manufacturing is divided into plane punching die and cavity die with space. Punch die and die size precise match, some even no gap match. Other forging die, such as cold extrusion die, die casting die, powder metallurgy die, plastic die, rubber die, etc., belong to the cavity die, used for forming three-dimensional shape of the workpiece. The cavity mold in the long, wide, high three directions have the size requirement, the shape is complex, the manufacture is difficult. Mold production is generally single piece, small batch production, manufacturing requirements are strict, accurate, more use of precision processing equipment and measuring devices.
The precision of plane die can be improved by edm, form grinding and coordinate grinding. Form grinding can be done by optical projection curve grinding machine, or surface grinding machine with the mechanism of reducing copy and grinding wheel, or by special form grinding tool on the precision surface grinding machine. Vertical deep hole drilling can be used for precise positioning of the mold, to ensure that the mold top pinhole hole wall light knot, high precision, high efficiency, high quality so as to reduce the cost!
